Black Hawk

I realized now that my blogs aren't really summing up to the topic i chose "What its like growing up Native American." So i did some research about a Native American man that went by the name of Black Hawk. As a young boy his was the son of Chief Pyesa from the Sauk Tribe. There reserve was between the Rock River and the Mississippi River in Illinois, Black Hawk was just a boy then, too young to hunt or fight in war. After being attacked by the Osage Indians, Black Hawk killed his enemy and was considered a warrior to his tribe. It was then he started going to council meetings with the other men. After his father died the village decided to make him Chief. When going to St. Louis to trade with the Spanish he found that they were no longer there and their reserve had been taken over by The Americans. He went to Canada to trade with the Americans up there for gunpowder, when returning home he found that the Americans had come and attacked their village with swords. Quickly after he sent three cheifs to surrender or call a truths, they signed a treaty and lost their land.
That is the point was trying to get to really is that being Native American you were tricked by the Americans because they would have you sign documents saying differnt then what was wrote. So im taking it being one of the First Native Americans they had no idea how to speak english and for that they were being tricked, lied to and just being taken advantage of. I don't think it was fair at all because even if they did know english it probably wasnt perfect and understandable to know what was written in a complicated sheet of paper just written on. Thats my point of veiw any way.
