I starting reading this book called "Growing Up Native American". The first story is by a man named Simon Ortiz explaining what it was like growing up learning language where he lived. He and his fmaily were forced to go to school to write and read english. Being forced to learn english he infact loved it i guess but it was not learning english that made him want to write it, it was his dad beating the drum and singing while his brothers, sisters and himself danced around. He's a poet now and in a later post ill show one and write what i think about it.
In the story i liked finding out that a Native American man was to work doing what benifitted his family, community and himself.
